Friends,

I had many thoughts to share with you today, but I am going to keep this week’s newsletter short — I tested positive for COVID yesterday. My best guess is that earlier this week (Sunday night to Monday afternoon) when I was trapped in the Charlotte airport due to American Airlines’ TWELVE delays of my flight, I got COVID.

I had already planned to take this upcoming week off, but it was supposed to be rejuvenating. It was supposed to be a time to heal in mind, body, and soul after an incredibly tough few months. A time to prepare for my book release. A time to truly catch up on my deep need for rest and health.

To be completely honest, I’m grieved that I will instead spend this time dealing with COVID. It’s really bringing up feelings of hopelessness, given everything else the past few months have made me face.

So, if you would, please pray for me, or send me all your best vibes. I have a grocery store order being delivered later today, so I will be okay, I have what I need. The biggest ache is my deep need for rest and the way life consistently seems to withhold it from me. I’m going to try to be gentle with myself, but I’m just plain upset.

And yet, I will keep going, will keep praying for rest, will keep trying to have hope that there will be a reprieve for me one day, and maybe soon.

I am deeply grateful for your prayers and well wishes. And vaccines. Thank you, friends. I look forward to writing more in a few weeks about the joyful things going on in my life.
