January life & interests (erin jean warde)
Once a month I’ll be doing a post on my life & interests. Lots of random items, links, nerdy rabbit holes I’ve been going down, and so forth. <3
It struck me that when people I follow share all the random stuff they are into, or what’s going on in their lives on a more granular level. So, once a month I’ll be doing a post on my life & interests. Lots of random items, links, nerdy rabbit holes I’ve been going down, and so forth. I hope you enjoy this monthly peek into some of the random realities that are making me come alive. <3
January life & interests
🍂 HERBALISM — I have been interested in herbalism for years, but thanks to being in the Ray of Light Community, I now have the chance to do a deep dive into a monthly herb. I’m genuinely so happy I could burst, lol.
🍃 BRAIDING SWEETGRASS — Connected: I hope it’s obvious I’m loving Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. <3
🛸 STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION — I’m not saying I’m new to being a little nerdy, but I’m new to becoming a Trekkie. I don’t know if you have checked recently, but there are like 75 Star Treks, so I didn’t know where to begin. My friend Noah helped me ~discern~ that TNG was a good starting place, and I’m really enjoying it.
🧖🏻♀️ SKIN CARE — I’ve had an interest in skin care for a while now, in large part due to the fact that I have wildly sensitive skin and my hormones really affect the health of my skin. However, most of my energy has focused on my face, but now I’m also dealing with incredibly dry skin all over. Anyway, this is a long way to say I am trying to find really small self-care routines right now, because I am going through a lot. I’m reminding myself that even just putting on body lotion or salve is a way of caring for myself during a really tough time.
💃🏻 NEW GIRL — For some reason, I never thought I’d be into New Girl, but I decided to give it a shot and now it’s one of my favorite shows of all time?? Like when I am finished (I am on season 6!) I’m just going to… start it again? The writing is so good and I care about all the characters.
What are you randomly into right now?? I’d love to know!
With care,
EJW
Join me and my friend The Rev. Arianne Rice THIS THURSDAY, January 19 at 6:30pm EST/5:30pm CST for How We Cope: Resolutions in Dry January, a virtual event hosted by Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd-Baltimore!
Join this workshop to explore coping skills, removing shame from how we cope, stories of sober discernment, and spiritual practices to support you as you hold the question: How do I want to be in relationship with alcohol? This workshop is for anyone who is sober curious, or who hopes to explore changing how they cope. Both Arianne and Erin are trained as Certified Daring Way Facilitators, so the whole of this work is defined by reducing shame and embracing wholeheartedness. This event is free, with the opportunity to make an optional donation to Erin Jean Warde via Venmo (@erinjeanwarde). Set aside this time as an opportunity to care for yourself in the comfort of your home.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. We hope to see you there!

Book Club will later go back to being a paid opportunity, but I felt compelled to let this be a gift. Please know that your financial support of my work means the world to me and I’m deeply grateful for it. <3
