Today is the day! I finally get to celebrate my book birthday! And from the bottom of my heart, thank you. The support I’ve received from y’all comes only after God in my gratitude.

Today is the day! I finally get to celebrate my book birthday!

Before I say anything else: From the bottom of my heart, thank you. The support I’ve received from y’all comes only after God in my gratitude. I long hoped to write a book and now — I have!

On a personal note: When I was 10 years old, I won a writing contest. It’s one of my earliest memories of feeling special, like I had a gift. It instilled in me an identity as dear to me as woman, Christian, priest: writer. It fueled my pursuit of an English degree with a Creative Writing minor. My identity as writer is behind my deep love for Scripture and preaching.

From that day on, I have held out hope that I would one day write a book. Today marks the very tender experience of a childhood dream coming true, a book birthday that is — in a deep spiritual sense — how one beloved part of my identity is born into the world in a new way.

Again, thank you for cheering me on as I share this part of my soul and identity with the world.
